Lots of Firsts Lately

Wow! We've been doing something new almost each and every day!

Claire and Abby went swimming (in a tiny wading pool at G&G Campbell's house) for the first time yesterday. They were joined by their cute cousin Lily, who is a mere 6 weeks older than them. (You can read more about her at woyak.com.) The twins seemed to think they were just taking a really long bath, but Lily's enthusiasm made up for their nonchalance. I'm sure they'll get more excited once they learn to splash.

We've also been trying new foods, like rice cereal and oatmeal.

Abby's favorite food so far is See-food. Ha ha! (I couldn't resist.)

Doesn't she look like her cousin Lily in this pic?

Abby and Claire had their first trip to the zoo with our good friends, The Shipmans (Sean, Kari, Kayla and Zach) this past Saturday.

Their favorite animal was this one here...

Watch out, he's ferocious! That poor Sno Cone never had a chance.

Ol' Blue Eyes (aka Claire) had a great time!

On Sunday, we took our first trip to Solon Springs to meet Grandma Gwen's side of the family. We got to stick our feet in a lake and it was nice to see everyone. And despite a couple small meltdowns and getting yelled at for taking too long at a gas pump, the car ride went pretty well. However, spending almost 5 hours in a car with 2 infants and a toddler (cousin Alexandra May, almost 2) in one day is not something I care to do too often.

Alex and Gwen at the start of our journey. Believe me, they look at little more tired by the end!

And, as if that wasn't already enough "firsts," the girls even tried the Johnny Jump Up for the first time! (In fact, it may have been the first time anyone's used a Johnny Jump Up EVER since the '70s.) Much like the pool, it was met with curiosity, but not a ton of excitement. Claire looks like she could get into it, though. Only time (and leg strength) will tell!

All our firsts were fun, but we were all pretty exhausted by the end of the weekend.

Wow, you guys have been busy! Yes, the picture Abby with food all over her face looks JUST like Lily, only she needs more food splattered around. :) (Just kidding, I do see what you mean!) I am loving that you have a blog now and I can keep up with all your adventures. Can't wait until the CABIN! :)
